Project: Construction of a 1200-cubic-meter, -20 ºC plasma cold storage and renovation of a 120-cubic-meter, -30 ºC intermediate warehouse for Xinxing Medicine.
Customer problems: Aging of the original cold storage facilities, decline of thermal insulation properties, large temperature fluctuations and excessive frost buildup. The problems above result in a temperature alarm and affect plasma refrigeration.
Howcool's solution: Reconstruction of the insulation. The air cooled chiller is re-adjusted and spare units are installed to deal with a sudden failure of the cold storage system or large inventory which can cause the system to consume extra power. A timer is installed to defrost at regular time intervals. The time lag of the two air cooled chillers' defrosting is compensated by continuous cooling from the spare unit.
Large-scale integrated cold storage project
With the engineering task of cooling 50,000 cubic meters and specification of 93 * 47 * 12 (m), our cold storage system uses fluorine refrigeration, air-cooled refrigeration units, and a long-distance air-cooled chiller. The project plan focuses on economic efficiency, fully automated performance, stability and reliability of all of the cold storage equipment. The first phase of the project was completed in October 2011. The second phase of the project is completed in March 2012.
Explosion-proof cold storage project
The project was divided into two phases and the construction of the first phase started in May 2011. The first phase of the cold storage project has a volume of about 10,000 cubic meters. The cold storage facility is divided into 20 rooms and each separate room is 500 cubic meters. The project follows the explosion-proof cold storage standard, and all of the refrigeration equipment, lighting systems, and electrical machinery fit the relevant national standards.
The second part of the cold storage project covers four sets of medical cold storage units with a total area of more than 3,000 cubic meters. Starting from May, 2011, the project was completed within 50 days. The cold storage has an explosion-proof grade of ExD Ⅱ BT4, protection level of IP55, and insulation level of F. The cold storage passed inspection of the China National Quality Supervision and Test Centre for Explosion Protected Electrical Products and was certified by the same institute.
